Gabriela G. Cezar, DVM, PhD

Gabriela Cezar is a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin—Madison where she pioneered the application of metabolomics to stem cell biology. Her research involves human embryonic stem (hES) cells, cancer stem cells and cells derived from hES cells such as neurons, cardiomyocytes and hepatocyte-like cells. In addition, Dr. Cezar heads the Stem Cell Safety Sciences Lab at UW and is a scientific collaborator with WiCell Research Institute.
 
   
Oliver Fiehn, PhD

Dr. Oliver Fiehn is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and the Genome Center. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the Free University of Berlin, Germany and his Ph.D from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. Subsequently, he joined the Max-Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, starting the field of plant metabolomics. He has published more than 45 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the board of the directors of the Metabolomics Society, and member of the editorial boards of several journals, among them the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Dr. Fiehn’s main research field is the mass spectrometry and its use for metabolite analysis, in conjunction with bioinformatics approaches to utilize metabolic data for plant and animal research.
 
   
Myla P. Lai-Goldman, MD

Dr. Myla P. Lai-Goldman retired from her position as Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Laboratory Corporation of America® Holdings (LabCorp®) in January 2009. She joined LabCorp in 1990. During her tenure at LabCorp, Dr. Lai-Goldman managed LabCorp's National Office of Quality and Science through which she was responsible for all quality, science and medical activities for LabCorp and its subsidiaries. Dr. Lai-Goldman was previously responsible for R & D and managing the operations of the Company’s Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology in Research Triangle Park, NC; National Genetics Institute, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA; and ViroMed Laboratories, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Lai-Goldman earned an MD from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York, and completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at St Luke’s Hospital in New York, anatomic and clinical pathology at the UCLA Center for Health Sciences, and hematopathology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
 
   
Minesh Mehta, MB, ChB

Dr. Mehta is an internationally recognized expert in human clinical drug trial strategy, design and execution and has managed national and international trials of all sizes including International Phase 3 trials. He was Professor in the Department of Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin's School of Medicine and Public Health from 2002-2010, including being the Program Leader of the Imaging and Radiation Sciences Program of the Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC). Dr. Mehta was Chairman of the Department of Human Oncology from 1997 to 2007. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) since 2006 and Chair of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) Brain Tumor Committee since 1998. From 1997 to 2001, he served as an ad-hoc member of the FDA's Technology Assessment Committee and from 2001 to 2005, he served on and eventually Chaired the FDA Radiological Devices Panel. He has more than 400 publications to his credit, especially in the areas of radiation therapy and translational and clinical cancer research. Dr. Mehta obtained his medical degree at the University of Zambia in 1981 and commenced his residency there at the Ndola Central Hospital. He moved to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1984 and completed his residency in radiation oncology in 1988 when he took up an Assistant Professorship in Human Oncology, was promoted to Associate Professor and became the Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program. After serving as Vice-Chairman and Interim Chairman, Dr. Mehta became Chair of Human Oncology and also a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Mehta has authored over 70 clinical protocols. He is currently Professor of Radiation Oncology at Northwestern University, Chicago.
 
   
G. Sitta Sittampalam, PhD

Dr. G. Sitta Sittampalam is the Deputy Director of the Office of Therapeutics & Drug Development at the Kansas Masonic Cancer Research Center. He has expertise in bio-analytical techniques, quantitative biology, molecular pharmacology and leading-edge high throughput screening technologies. For over 23 years he worked for Eli Lilly & Company in drug discovery and development.
